Tiger Male Shuttlers finish UAAP campaign in 4th place
The University of Santo Tomas Male Tiger Shuttlers finished the UAAP Season 80 badminton tournament in fourth place, after being whipped by the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles, 1-3, at the Rizal Badminton Hall Sunday.
Male Shuttlers John Edgar Reyes and John Paul Yabut ran out of gas in both single events against ADMU’s Enrico Asuncion and Carlo Remo, respectively.

“‘Yung laro ni Jo-Ed (Reyes), nagkulang eh. Tsaka lang lumabas 'yung effort niya kung kailan patapos na yung laro,” UST rookie-coach RJ Ormilla said.
John Edgar Reyes, paired with Jan Mark Sotea, managed to bag UST’s lone win and outpowered the Eagles in the first doubles event against Clarence Filart and Sean Chan, 21-10, 22-18.
Tandem of Kristian Barrios and Miguel Santiago failed to follow suit and consecutively flunked two sets, sealing the game for Ateneo’s Remo and Asuncion, 21-15, 21-18.
The Tiger Shuttlers’ roster for next year will no longer be including graduating players Reyes and Sotea. Cris Sanchez will also miss the next season to give way for his academics.
