UST forms largest human sentence for Guinness record
A TOTAL of 17,011 Thomasians gathered at the UST open field to form the largest human sentence last Sept. 29 in recognition to the teachers and to break the world record for the largest human sentence.
“Ang main purpose talaga natin dito is to give and [to] make people know that Thomasian students do recognize, do appreciate, and do praise whatever [the] teachers are doin[g],” Prof. Allan de Guzman, chairperson of the College of Education told The Spiral Journal.
Students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff participated in the formation of the human sentence in accordance to former president Benigno Aquino III’s Proclamation No. 242 that mandates public and private schools to use the sentence “My teacher is my hero” every teacher’s month.
“[B]ilang pagpupuri at pagpupugay sa ating mga guro sa UST, ito ay isinagawa, tinugunan ng Kolehiyo ng Edukasyon sa pakikipagtulungan ng iba’t ibang mga tanggapan at opisina sa ating pamantasan,” De Guzman said.
UST beat the 2016 Guinness World record of India of a total of 16,550 participants in its “You can, you will” human sentence formation.
The College of Education spearheaded the event in collaboration with the different colleges and offices in the University.
