Eagles dominate Bulldogs, extend streak to six
The Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles extended their winning streak to six after conquering the National University (NU) Bulldogs, 96-83, on Sept. 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Jjay Alejandro refused to concede, sparking an 8-2 run that kept the Eagles within a striking distance and cutting ADMU’s lead down to three.
The Eagles countered a 7-2 run that cemented their lead to nine, 66-57, while the Bulldogs failed to keep up.
Chiz Ikeh lifted the Eagles with a phenomenal double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds while Vince Tolentino added 15 markers.
Alejandro and Antonio Joson scored a game-high 24, and 14 points, respectively, but still fell short against the Katipunan-based squad.
The next game of the NU Bulldogs will be against the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, while the Ateneo Blue Eagles will face the defending champion De La Salle University Green Archers both on Oct. 8 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
