The National Day of Protest took place on September 21, which is also the 45th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law in 1972.
Rallyists lambasted Marcoses' historical revisionism and Martial Law. They also called for the termination of extrajudicial killings, militarization, and state fascism.
Human rights advocates, activists, minorities, and known personalities gathered in an open area in front of Grandstand in Luneta Park. They staged rallies and performances to voice out their sentiments on various issues faced by the country.
