Bulldogs refuse to give Growling Tigers a win
THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers is still winless, after National University (NU) Bulldogs dismantled them, 94-84, in the UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.
Bulldogs took advantage of UST’s turnover-plagued offense and the fouling out of Reggie “Boy” Basibas and Jordan Sta. Ana in the last quarter.
Basibas’ game-high 23 points fell short against Bulldog Issa Gaye’s double-double of 17 points, and 22 rebounds with Jjay Alejandro’s contribution of 12 markers.
NU has now a 2-1 win-loss card, while UST has 0-3 standing together with the University of the East.
Bulldogs will face the Adamson Soaring Falcons on Sunday at 4 P.M. at the Mall of Asia Arena, while Growling Tigers will face the Far Eastern University Tamaraws on Saturday at 2 P.M. at the same venue.
