All she wanted was to see her name in their school paper. It all started there. Driven and willing to try new things, Garcia discovered her passion in writing when she joined the Youngster's Gazette, their grade school student publication.

 

Writing in their school paper was never in her plans, since she wanted to become a volleyball player. However, Garcia believes that fate drew a different path for her.

 

During her freshman year, she became a photojournalist in their high school student publication, Vox. But because she was so insistent in playing volleyball, she quit the publication to join their school’s varsity team.

 

Upon entering college, Garcia never lost her passion in writing. She is pursuing a journalism degree , while playing for the AB women's volleyball team.

 

Currently, Garcia is a junior correspondent of The Manila Times, a volunteer in the Inquirer Volunteer Corps., a member
