A Victorian era hand-me-down, Claire is a frustrated cultured artist, who lives in the "phantasmagoric but exciting territory called contemporary life," where her interests in culture and the arts interlace. Setting aside the dream to become an aeronautical engineer, she immersed herself into the study of liberal arts with the initial thought that it is her strength, given the fact that she has written and oral language prowess. Art, in forms of love, old music, musicals, films, performing arts and to some extent history, is what founds her creativity as a writer.

Cruz is currently a member of the Inquirer Volunteer Corps, and has served as a correspondent during the 2016 Vice-Presidential Debate, Elections 2016, and during the first State of the Nation Address of President Duterte. She was also a Junior Correspondent for The Manila Times, under the Education Section. She currently works at the Varsitarian as a Features Writer.
