Coldora is a journalism junior at the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters. He has been a student journalist since elementary, and was the editor in chief of their high school student publications, The Passage and Ang Sinaglaya. Currently, Coldora is a literary writer at The Varsitarian, the official student publication of UST.

While being a student journalist, he was also part of their elementary school’s volleyball varsity team. But seeing his face almost damaged and his jaw nearly misaligned due to his teammates’ hits straight to his face, his mother told him to quit volleyball and to focus on his journalism class. For his mother, writing articles is a safer activity than playing volleyball.

Now that he pursues a journalism degree in college and wants to cover politics, Coldora realizes that his mother’s advice will not be applicable now, especially in the Philippines—where one would rather get hit by a volleyball opponent than getting hit by a gunman.
